Day One: 5 Horse Activities

May 12, 2020 Kylie Tuosto

Day 1: 5 Horse Activities for Kids

We’re starting our 50 day adventure in the farm land where cows, horses, and chickens roam free! That’s right, it’s a barn yard adventure and Day 1 is all about horses! We’ve curated an awesome (and not too overwhelming) list of activities for your equestrian day. So saddle up and bring your unbridled enthusiasm to this fun-filled day of horse activities for kids!

Fun Fact: Did you know that horses can sleep both standing up and lying down?

  1. Craft: Paper Plate Horse

  2. Snack: Horse Cookies

  3. Game: Pin the Tail on the Horse

  4. Activity: Horse Maze

  5. Reflection: Horses symbolize freedom because they allowed men to roam beyond their immediate surroundings. What does freedom mean to you? When do you feel like you have freedom and when do you feel like you don’t?

Bonus: Watch Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron together for family movie night!

Pro Tips: Farm week is an excellent opportunity to discuss with your kiddos how are food is sustainably raised and produced. Interesting topics of discussion include: where do fruits & vegetables come from? What is harvest season? Where does meat come from and different types of eating preferences (vegan, vegetarian, etc.)?
