Mommy and Me Photoshoot

Many of you know that I just became a first time mom late last year. And it has been a crazy first 6 months! Not only was this weekend Mother’s Day, but Sofie also turned six months old today. More on that milestone in another blog post… Today, I want to share this adorable breakfast in bed themed Mommy and Me Photoshoot that we did to celebrate Mother’s Day! You’ll definitely want to check out these 3 tips on how to photograph your toddler before you begin.

One of my all time favorite things about Sofie is waking up with her next to me in the mornings. She sleeps in a SNOO Smart Sleeper next to my bed and seeing her wake up with that big open mouth smile is the absolute best way to start my day. So when my husband asked how I wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day, I couldn’t think of a better way that to memorialize our mornings together with a mommy daughter photoshoot.

I knew I wanted to celebrate breakfast in bed so I found these adorable matching mommy daughter pajama sets from Little Sleepies (use code LSLOVESYOU to safe 15%). They’re called Breakfast Buddies if you’re looking for the print and they are made of such an amazing bamboo fabric — they’re so soft and buttery you’ll absolutely love them.

Of course, Sofie needed a matching bow so I snagged one of my all time favorite black and white polka dot bow from Copper Pearl.

Next, we just needed breakfast! Sofie's was easy, we just snagged her favorite pink Comotomo bottle. I happen to have the world’a best husband who cooks me an egg every morning so it was just the usual for me today. And with all our supplies, we headed to the bedroom for some photos!

We had so much fun doing all our favorite silly things in bed. From kissing Sofie’s tummy to doing up downs and airplanes, we got to capture all of the mother daughter moments that are so special to us.

These early days of motherhood and infancy go by so quickly. So Mother’s Day turned out to be a great excuse to capture as much of that precious time as possible. As a mom, I feel like I’m always behind the camera, never in front of it. And I started to worry we wouldn’t remember how it looked and felt and sounded to be a new mom. So capturing video throughout the day to go back and watch later really made it extra special.

So if you have a new babe, don’t wait! Find an excuse to setup a photoshoot of your favorite things. You won’t regret it!
