Yellow & Green Toddler Room Color Palette

June 2, 2018 Kylie Tuosto
toddler-color-palette-lion-brights.png

My all time favorite color palette for a gender neutral toddler room or nursery is yellow and green. These two bright primaries along with some neutral browns and grays make the perfect playful room for your kiddo.

PRIMARY PALETTE

Whether your home has a gray neutral foundation or leans more into earthy browns and woods, this palette can flex to fit. Yellow and greens look beautiful with a soft blue gray or a darker wood brown. For a more clean, sleek, modern look, I prefer the gray base. That way you can add pops of brown throughout with furniture, shelves, and other accent pieces.

  • Light Gray: HEX# E2E2E2
  • Medium Brown: HEX# AE967B

SECONDARY PALETTE

This look is so super fun because it has so many bright and playful secondary colors. I'd recommend a few shades of yellow (light for larger items like bedding, curtains and rugs, and a darker yellow for small accent pieces like this adorable lion rocker). Add a few oranges and greens to the mix and you have this lovely playful safari feel. You can also swap out green for blues if you want a more masculine look. Or a bright teal if you want to remain gender neutral but more modern and less safari. Overall, this palette is super versatile and with some of the great items pictured above, you're kiddo is sure to love it!

  • Bright Yellow: HEX# F9E690
  • Light Yellow: HEX# FEF3C2
  • Bright Orange: HEX# F8C77F
  • Bright Green: HEX# E5EB9C

If you want to enjoy summer all year round, this look is perfect! It's modern, fresh, and fun and perfect for your little girl's bedroom decor.

Grey & Navy Boy's Room Color Palette

May 26, 2018 Kylie Tuosto

If you just found out you're a having a baby boy, you're going to love this modern look for his room. It's a classic, calming, and clean look, with just enough playfulness to make a kiddo feel at home.

When it comes to decorating a nursery for a baby boy, there are countless options to choose from. However, one color scheme that is both timeless and stylish is navy and grey. These colors are not only soothing and calming for your little one, but they also offer a modern and sophisticated look that will never go out of style.

One of the main benefits of using navy and grey in a baby boy's nursery is that they are both neutral colors. This means that they can easily be paired with other colors, patterns, and textures, making it easy to create a cohesive and visually interesting space. Additionally, these colors will grow with your child, making it easy to transition the room from a nursery to a toddler or big kid room.

Another advantage of navy and grey is that they are both very versatile. Navy is a rich, deep color that can add a sense of elegance and sophistication to any room. Grey, on the other hand, is a classic neutral that can create a sense of calm and serenity. Together, these colors create a sophisticated, modern look that is perfect for a baby boy's nursery.

To add a touch of fun and playfulness to your nursery, consider incorporating some navy and grey nursery art prints. Our grey and navy rhino nursery art prints are the perfect addition to any nursery. These high-quality prints feature a cute and adorable rhino that will add a touch of whimsy to your baby boy's room. The grey and navy color scheme will complement any existing decor and add a touch of modern elegance to your nursery.

In conclusion, navy and grey are a perfect color scheme for a baby boy's nursery. They are timeless, versatile, and neutral, making them easy to pair with other colors and patterns. Plus, the addition of some navy and grey nursery art prints like our grey and navy rhino prints will add a touch of playful elegance to the space and make it a cozy, comfortable and stylish room for your little one to grow.

PRIMARY PALETTE

Even though this looks seems very monochromatic, it's extremely versatile. If you have dark hardwood floors, the navy and grey will balance nicely off the natural tones. Or if you have a neutral carpet and grey walls, you can easily achieve this simple and elegant style. For bed linens, go with large scale simple patterns in primary colors. The more white you use, the cleaner and modern the look!

  • Dark Grey: HEX# 898B8E

  • Light Grey: HEX# E2E2E2

  • White: HEX# FFFFFF

SECONDARY PALETTE

For your secondary palette, you can keep it clean and just use navy for some bold accents. Be careful not to overdo it though, the more navy you add, the darker the look! If you want to make the room a bit less sterile and add extra playfulness without sacrificing your clean look, add a secondary medium blue to help balance out the palette.

  • Navy: HEX# 455482

  • Medium Blue: HEX# 9CC1DE

This look is super modern, fresh and clean. You can adapt it to add toys and books for secondary playful colors, or keep it nice and simple. Either way, this look is sure to delight your baby boy.

Forest Friends Nursery Color Palette

April 15, 2018 Kylie Tuosto

When you're going for that cozy and warm nursery feel, nothing is better than the deep browns and greens that remind you of the forests in winter. Whether you're in love with the pine scent or just can't get enough of those woodland animals, this color palette is perfect for creating that woodsy feel.

PRIMARY PALETTE

To get that wood cabin look, it's best to start with a soft, light neutral beige base for your walls and add dark pops of deep oak-colored furniture. Or, if you happen to be decorating a cabin, do just the opposite -- let the wood walls shine and add softer neutral furniture to balance it out. If you want the lumber jack look, use red and brown plaids for your bedding. But if you want to keep a more modern and sleek vibe, I'd recommend neutral beige bedding with a soft and subtle pattern. There are lots of great options to choose from and you can either go geometric shapes or look for small trees, and forest animals.

  • Light Beige: HEX# F0E9DA
  • Medium Brown: HEX# AE967B

SECONDARY PALETTE

Once you've go the basics down, it's easy to add pops of green throughout the room. I'm in love with these adorable Copper Pearl bibs and blankets. Or you can decorate with some cute moose & mountains nursery prints. And don't forget that a dark rug or play mat can make a big difference in the balance of the room. The big watch-out in achieving this look is plastic toys! The more brightly colored toys you have, the less woodsy your room will look. So, look for fabric bins that let you tuck away toys into neatly arranged bookshelves or check out some great wooden toys that will enhance this look!

  • Light Green: HEX# E1EBCA
  • Dark Green: HEX# 9BBE91

This look is perfect for the gender neutral nursery. You can go heavier on the reds and plaids for a more masculine look, or you can add more beige and softer greens to make it feel more feminine. Either way, your little one is sure to feel comfy and cozy in a cute brown and green forest nursery.
