Forest Friends Nursery Color Palette

When you're going for that cozy and warm nursery feel, nothing is better than the deep browns and greens that remind you of the forests in winter. Whether you're in love with the pine scent or just can't get enough of those woodland animals, this color palette is perfect for creating that woodsy feel.

PRIMARY PALETTE

To get that wood cabin look, it's best to start with a soft, light neutral beige base for your walls and add dark pops of deep oak-colored furniture. Or, if you happen to be decorating a cabin, do just the opposite -- let the wood walls shine and add softer neutral furniture to balance it out. If you want the lumber jack look, use red and brown plaids for your bedding. But if you want to keep a more modern and sleek vibe, I'd recommend neutral beige bedding with a soft and subtle pattern. There are lots of great options to choose from and you can either go geometric shapes or look for small trees, and forest animals.

SECONDARY PALETTE

Once you've go the basics down, it's easy to add pops of green throughout the room. I'm in love with these adorable Copper Pearl bibs and blankets. The big watch-out in achieving this look is plastic toys! The more brightly colored toys you have, the less woodsy your room will look. Pink & Gold Nursery Color Palette

Unicorns are in! And if you're a sucker for the adorable baby pink nursery, adding a few specks of gold here and there can really kick it up a notch. There are lots of bright rainbow colored unicorn items out there, so I personally enjoy some of the understated items like this adorable unicorn plushy and towel wrap.

PRIMARY PALETTE

To achieve this look, it can be tempting to go overboard with the pinks and gold. So start subtle. Use a light neutral grey as the base for walls. Paired with white furniture, the contrast with the walls will provide a nice clean, but neutral pop. Then use a solid light pink based for bedding or an area rug to give the room a beautiful girly feel.

SECONDARY PALETTE

To take this room from plain and pink to bold and bright, add a few hints of gold throughout. This could be a select few pieces of furniture like a brass nightstand or a gold-plated lamp. Or you could consider framing your nursery art in gold frames. Alternatively, find art with sparkly gold hints to give it that glittery look. Just be careful not to overdo it. It's easy to get so excited when you're in the store and buy everything gold in sight. But remember, gold is in your secondary palette and should only be used as little hints here and there. You can also leave the gold touches up to the smaller items like unicorn plushies, unicorn bath towels, and other adorable items. For another subtle hint, swap out silver knobs with gold knobs to tie it all together.

Teal & Grey Nursery Color Palette

If you're looking for adorable nursery inspiration, look no further! I love curating collections of beautiful baby products and nursery decor that will make your new baby feel right at home. One of my all-time favorites is this teal and grey color palette. I love that it's gender neutral and doesn't rely on the cliche blue and pink.

Primary Palette

Use dark and light grays as your primary palette. Starting with grey as the foundation for your walls gives you a nice, solid yet calming back drop for splashes of brighter colors. Use teal as your bolder accents like crib bedding, nursery art, books, play mats, pillows, and curtains. Overall, 70% of the room should rely on whites and shades of light grey. About 20% should be shades of teal, using more light teal than dark teal gives you that fresh new baby look. And lastly, about 10% of the items in the room should use a secondary color palette for accents.

Secondary Palette

This color palette is so versatile depending on your taste and style. I personally like the pairing with a medium brown (pictured here). It goes really well with and dark wood furniture or hardwood floors.

Pair it with pops of light tangerine orange for a brighter, bouncier look. This will give the whole room a playful vibe. Add orange accents by purchasing toys or games, books, or even art in this secondary color. Not into orange? If you're looking for a more calming vibe, pair it will a soft cream color. Cream can work either for the walls of the nursery or for any larger pieces of furniture. It provides a nice neutral base, allowing the teals to bounce and pop bringing the brightness to the room.

No matter how you decide to tweak it, you really can't go wrong with teal and grey for a gender neutral nursery. It's such a fun bright, yet calming color that works well no matter what style furniture you have. Unlike other palette's, this one pairs nicely with brown, earth-tone furniture or modern blacks and grays.

6 Clever Ideas for a Giraffe Nursery

Giraffes are one of the most adorable animals to decorate a nursery with because they're friendly and cute but also gender neutral. And yellow just adds such a nice splash of color to a baby's room.
